Zopfresh 20 Mg (Zopiclone)

Zopfresh 20 mg is a high-dose formulation of zopiclone, a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic agent prescribed for the short-term management of insomnia. It is used to treat significant sleep disturbances, including difficulty falling asleep, frequent nighttime awakenings, and poor sleep quality.

Zopiclone works by enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter responsible for reducing brain activity. By binding to GABA-A receptors, it produces sedative and calming effects that help initiate and maintain sleep. Although it interacts with similar receptors as benzodiazepines, it has a distinct chemical structure and is classified separately.

A 20 mg dose is considered higher than the standard adult dose and may increase the likelihood of side effects. Such strength should only be taken under strict medical supervision and when specifically prescribed. It is typically taken just before bedtime and only when a full 7–8 hours of sleep is possible. Zopiclone is generally intended for short-term use due to the risk of tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal symptoms with prolonged use.

Common side effects may include a bitter or metallic taste, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, and next-day sleepiness. Higher doses may increase the risk of confusion, memory problems, coordination issues, or unusual sleep behaviors such as sleepwalking. Rare but serious side effects can include mood changes, allergic reactions, or respiratory depression.

Zopfresh 20 mg should not be combined with alcohol or other sedative medications due to the risk of excessive sedation and breathing difficulties. Individuals with liver disease, respiratory conditions, a history of substance misuse, or mental health disorders should use this medication only under careful medical supervision.
