Description
Zopimini 3.75 mg is a low-dose formulation of zopiclone, a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic agent prescribed for the short-term management of insomnia. It is commonly used to treat difficulty falling asleep, frequent nighttime awakenings, and poor sleep quality.
Zopiclone works by enhancing the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that reduces brain excitability. By binding to GABA-A receptors, it produces sedative and relaxing effects that help initiate and maintain sleep. Although it acts on similar receptors as benzodiazepines, it has a different chemical structure and is classified separately.
The 3.75 mg dose is typically recommended as a starting dose or for individuals who may be more sensitive to sedative medications, such as older adults. It is taken shortly before bedtime and should only be used when the person can dedicate 7–8 hours to sleep. Zopiclone is generally intended for short-term use to reduce the risk of tolerance, dependence, or withdrawal symptoms.
Common side effects may include a bitter or metallic taste in the mouth, dry mouth, drowsiness, dizziness, and headache. Rare but serious side effects can include confusion, memory disturbances, unusual sleep behaviors (such as sleepwalking), mood changes, or allergic reactions.
Zopimini 3.75 mg should be used under medical supervision, particularly in individuals with liver or respiratory conditions, a history of substance misuse, or mental health disorders. Alcohol should be avoided while taking this medication due to the increased risk of excessive sedation and breathing difficulties.
