Waklert 50 Mg (Armodafinil)

Waklert 50 mg is a lower-dose formulation of armodafinil, a central nervous system wakefulness-promoting agent. It is prescribed to manage excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea (as an adjunct to primary treatments such as CPAP therapy), and shift work sleep disorder.

Armodafinil is the R-enantiomer of modafinil and provides longer-lasting alertness due to its extended half-life. It works mainly by inhibiting dopamine reuptake in the brain, increasing dopamine availability and promoting wakefulness. It may also affect other neurotransmitters involved in regulating alertness, including norepinephrine and histamine.

The 50 mg strength is often used as a starting dose, for individuals sensitive to stimulants, or when a lower maintenance dose is appropriate. It is typically taken once daily, either in the morning or approximately one hour before a work shift.

Common side effects may include headache, nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety, and insomnia. Although it has a lower abuse potential compared to traditional stimulant medications, Waklert 50 mg is still a prescription drug and should be used under medical supervision, especially for individuals with heart, liver, or mental health conditions.
